John Legend Picks Issue With Kanye West Over His Meeting With Donald Trump

Early this week, American rapper Kanye West made international headlines after meeting with America’s president-elect Donald Trump in New York. Kanye’s meeting with Trump instigated mixed reactions from Black Americans who bashed the rapper, calling him a traitor.

 The rage was brought about by Trump’s racist remarks during his campaigns. The billionaire had said he will deport all Africans when elected president, sentiments that rubbed the black community the wrong way.

John Legend is the latest black American and celebrity to weigh in on Trump and Kanye West’s meeting. The revered Rnb singer said he is disappointed with Kanye for meeting Trump. According to John Legend, who is Kanye West’s close ally, the New York meeting was one of Kanye’s many ‘publicity Stunts’ that has terribly backfired on his face.

‘’I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to Donald Trump about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.’’ John Legend said.

‘’I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country .I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.’’ He added.
