Georgia Tech Safety Arrested For Simple Battery

Georgia Tech safety Jalen Johnson was arrested Saturday for simple battery by campus police and was taken to Fulton County jail.

Johnson, a redshirt sophomore from Oneonta, Ala., played in the team’s win over Duke earlier in the day at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

To the Georgia code, a person is guilty of simple battery if he or she “intentionally makes physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature” with another person or “intentionally causes physical harm to another.”

Johnson has played in all eight of the team’s games this season, mostly in a special team’s role.
