Super
Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has expressed satisfaction with the options he has in
the squad, ahead of Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo.
Rohr stated that it was nice to have new players coming into the squad, which
is better than having the same faces all the time. “It is good to have so many
options and not just one list with same players for all the matches,” said Rohr
as he welcomed Leon Balogun, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo.

Rohr
said his preparations for the match has been to assess players in their clubs
since the Eagles couldn’t play friendly games. “We have to analyse the matches
and we also have to keep eyes on our players because we have started building a
new team with many young players. “It was good we have two wins after two
matches (Tanzania and Zambia) which is good for our confidence but there is
still a lot of work to do. Speaking on the game against Algeria, Rohr said the
Eagles will strive to maintain their winning streak so far. “Algeria will come
to Uyo very well prepared against us.
So
mathematically, it was a good operation for us that we won in Ndola and we are
the only teams that have three points after the first round of matches.”
