Femi One Reveals Why Kenyan Music Is Heading To the Dogs

For starters,I never knew Femi One was one hell of a strong rapper until she dropped ‘Pilau Njeri’, in which she trampled over fellow female rappers to claim the rap queen tiara. Well, ’Pilau Njeri’ as it turned out, was just a tip on the ice berg .Just a week after dropping the now controversial ‘Pilau Njeri’ ,the rapper released yet another banger ‘Jah’ which is currently enjoying heavy rotation on local media. Femi has gotten all the attention she needed, and this seems to be just the beginning of a successful music journey.

However, despite her breakthrough Femi feels the Kenyan music Industry is failing .In an interview with a local radio station, the rapper revealed how the industry is falling apart and even went ahead to point out the root cause of the decay. According to Femi One, Nigerian music has taken over with promoters fueling it by giving foreign artists better treatment over their own.

‘’Kenyan music is dying because Nigerian music has taken over, they are even given better airplay than our own music. When a foreign artist lands in Kenya, he is given better treatment and paid much more than Kenyan artists.’’ Femi said.
