Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho was
left out of the Manchester City squad that thrashed West Ham 4-0 in a Premier
League clash at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night.
It was the third consecutive game the Super Eaglesforward has misseded for the Citizens.
Iheanacho last featured for Manchester
City in the club’s 4-0 defeat away to Everton. He has scored four goals in 15
English Premier League appearances this term.
Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, David
Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Yaya Toure from the penalty spot earned Manchester
City their 14th win of the campaign and closed up the gap on leaders Chelsea to
ten points.
Raheem Sterling made the first attempt
from the first corner kick conceded but his effort went wide.
Pep Guardiola’s side opened scoring in
the 17th minute when Kevin De Bruyne tapped in a clever pass from Gabriel Jesus
from the right flank for his fourth English Premier League goal of the season.
David Silva made it 2-0 in the 21st
minute with a perfect side footed a rebound effort from the centre of the
circle after a Sterling had fired the first shot on goal.
Jesus scored his debut goal for the
club after 39 minutes gliding in the ball past Darren Randolph in goal for West
Ham on the night.
Yaya Toure sealed the win for City’s
goal from the spot in the 63rd minute after Raheem Sterling was fouled by Jose
Fonte in the box.
City will host Swansea City in their
next game on Sundayat the Ethiad stadium.
